We were honored to have Dr. Marya Cokar and Dr. Sravani Gullapalli as our speakers. Dr. Cokar received her PhD from the University of Calgary, and is currently the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of the Biosfera Group and a teaching professor at Rice. Dr. Gullapallu received her PhD from Rice in 2014, and is currently a technology manager at Shell and a strategic board member at SUPERGirls Shine Foundation.
We are honored to have Dr. Steve Meier, who is a development supervisor at ExxonMobil, and Dr. Charlie Meyer, a manager formerly working at Shell, as our speakers.

Last Dec. 16th, we had our traditional ChBE Holiday Party. It was a great opportunity to congratulate students for their accomplishments during the year, like first-author publications and awards.

This Fall, we had a lot of fun during our Trivia competition. Besides big prizes, we also had pizza and drinks from Valhalla at the Grad Student Commons. 🍕 🍹 🍺

During the last week, ChBE GSA hosted two events for our new graduate students: (i) an advisor matching talk, where senior graduate students explained how the process of finding a PI works in our department; and (ii) our first ChBE GSA General Meeting, where we talked about our goals as a student association and the first-year representative elections. As usual, we had a great time meeting new people and having some pizza! 🍕🍕🍕
